Jaromir Tarabus, driving his Abarth Grande Punto S2000, was a surprise winner of the 2009 Kopna rallysprint in the Czech Republic at the weekend.

Pre-event favourite Roman Kresta dominated the early stages, aboard a Wevers Sport Skoda Fabia WRC, but succumbed to engine failure during the second loop of stages. Grzegorz Grzyb finished second but lost time due to a spin and his hopes of victory were dashed in the Punto Abarth S2000.

Josef Petak was third in a Peugeot 207 S2000, though was in second place until the final stage where Grzyb narrowly pipped him. Pavel Valousek claimed fourth spot in his Evo 9 to finish ahead of Roman Odlożilik's 207 S2000.
