JPFontes Rallye Casinos do Algarve 2008 Results: Jose Pedro Fontes wins his first Portuguese national event

Pedro Fontes secured his first win of the season on the Rallye Casinos do Algarve driving his Team Vodafone Fiat Grande Punto S2000.

Fontes took a 1.5s lead, on the asphalt rally, going into the final stage from Vitor Pascoal but the Peugeot 207 pilot had mechanical problems and retired guaranteeing Fontes the win. Early leader Bruno Magalhaes claimed second after recovering from 10th following a puncture during the second leg. Portuguese champion Magalhaes had been leading in the Peugeot Portugal 207 but he had to change the wheel after hitting a rock and this dropped him two and a half minutes.

Fernando Peres finished third and won Group N in his Mitsubishi Evo 9. Red Bull star Bernardo Sousa took fourth in his Evo 9 with Pedro Leal fifth in a Fiat Stilo.
