Rally Shalymar 2008 results and video: Sergio Vallejo wins as Enrique Garcia Ojeda is crowned Spanish asphalt champion

Sergio Vallejo took victory in his Porsche 911 GT3 on Rally Shalymar, the final round of the Spanish tarmac championship. It wasn't enough though to prevent Garcia Ojeda (pictured) taking the Spanish title.
Ojeda (207 S2000) needed to finish second for the championship if Vallejo won and he did just that finishing over a minute behind his rival. Vallejo dominated the rally but he needed a mistake from Ojeda, if he was to be champion, but it never came.
Armide Martín finished 3rd in his Ferrari ahead of Xevi Pons in a 911. Pons had been pressuring Ojeda for second but lost a minute and a half due to a spin on a stage at the Jarama race circuit.
Ojeda was overjoyed with winning the title:
It's very important. It was what I was missing in my sporting career and the truth is that I was really excited. The team has had a great season, not only by the good results but also because it has been a very difficult year in which we were pitted against the GT cars, which have been very difficult to beat."
