Rally Scotland: SS3 Results: Meeke fastest, Cronin stopped

Meeke2(3) Rally Scotland: SS3 Results: Meeke fastest, Cronin stopped

Kris Meeke has started where he left off last night by posting fastest time on the 17.34km Craigvinean stage.

Meeke wasn't happy though, as he felt there was a problem with the front left hand corner of the Peugeot 207 S2000 stating that the car wouldn't turn in properly.

Alister McRae postest second quickest time in the Proton S2000, just 2 seconds behind Meeke, and the Scot now moves up to 3rd place overall. Guy Wilks, in the Skoda Fabia S2000, was third on the stage, 3 seconds behind the fastest time and maintains his second position overall but is now 7 seconds behind Meeke.

Dave Weston junior is fourth in his Subaru Impreza, while Alastair Fisher lies fifth despite suffering a spin in the Mitsubishi Evo. Adam Gould is in sixth place as he beds into driving the Peugeot 207 S2000.

Conditions were slippery and muddy, as was expected, with the last few kilometres of the stage being particularly tricky.

Meanwhile, Keith Cronin has stopped in the first 10km of the stage with the Abarth Punto S2000, and it seems he might be out of the rally.

EDIT: Cronin suffered a punture and then beached the Punto, losing 47 minutes. He made it to the stage end and through SS4, but may be OTL.
