5th Rally of the Israeli Motor Sport Association 2008: Yoval Melamed wins in a Subaru Impreza STi

Rallying in Israel
On saturday the 8.11.2008 the 5th rally of the Israeli Motor Sport Association took place. 30 vehicles in the various categories participated, the leading category was the N type.
A number of drivers that participated are Israeli drivers that have participated in international events such as: Yuval Melamed, Danny Levi who used new co-drivers for the first time.
The rally was run on an 80 km route with 5 stages totaling 60 km, the remaining km were used as connections between the stages.
This race was one of those that took place this year after the passing of the Israeli Motor sport law in Parliment. The race was carried out according to FIA regulations. Marshals and Controllers who participated in marshal courses were located along the route for race control.

In the leading N category the winners were:
First place - Yoval Melamed and Co driver Miki Yohai 36 min and 45 sec in a Subaru Impreza STi
Second place - Rami Shohotovitz and Co driver Moshe Farhi 38 min and 24.65 sec in a Mitsubishi EVO
Third place - Nir Ben-Ari and Co driver Dubi Mikker 38 min and 51.54 sec ina Subaru Impreza



The Israeli Motor sport association has been organizing motor sport races for over 20 years and has carried out, race drivers, co-drivers, marshals, stewards courses in order to advance motor sport in Israel.
The 2009 Israeli rally championship will start in March 2009
