Rally Norway has extended entry deadline until Tuesday 13/1/09

Rally Norway organisers have decided to extend the entry closing date until next Tuesday 13 January at 15.00 hrs CET.
Entries were to close today at 3pm but in the wake of Petter Solberg requesting an extension until Friday and problems for other competitors trying to secure deals, the organisers have taken the unprecedented step to postpone the deadline until next Tuesday.
Clerk of the Course Stig Rune Kjernsli stated on rallynorway.com:
We have a slightly lower number of entries so far compared to 2007 but that is as expected. But looking at the entries from a sporting point of view, it is a very competitive entry list.
However, there may be no surprise that we are still expecting more drivers to sign up for Rally Norway 2009 including our own world champion Petter Solberg. I hope indeed that a few days extension will help a number of competitors get their complicated programmes organised."
So far Rally Norway has attracted just over 40 entries.
