RallyBuzz can exclusively reveal that Rally Ireland will have a 1.5km stage through Donegal Town centre as the finale of the 09 event on Sunday the 1st February. This will replace Mullaghmore, which ran as the last stage in 2007. The route details have been submitted for approval, a senior FIA member revealed.

We can also reveal that Enniskillen will be the venue for the Ceremonial Start which will take place on Thursday 29th January at 7pm. The Sligo based event will have it's first stage on Friday 30th at Glenboy. There will be a total of 19 special stages over the three days. Stormont will not feature in the rally due to possible logistical problems, but will launch the 2009 WRC on Saturday 24th with a "Race of Champions" style event featuring the works drivers and teams plus others.
