Several candidates for Rally Argentino’s 7th round

Several candidates for Rally Argentinos 7th round

10.09.2009 Rally Argentino’s action is moving to the east side of the country to held its 7th round in the province of Entre Ríos, and the riverside’s city of Concepción del Uruguay will be the main scenery of a fantastic showdown where at least four or five drivers could have the chance to come up with the victory.

After a stunning victory at his home province in the last round, Tango’s driver Nicolás Madero will arrive at the 7th round enjoying a snuggery place in the Championsh. In the Rally Vuelta de la Manzana the native of Bariloche not only recaptures the lead in the series but also took advantage from his opponents’ errors to make his getaway in the Championship and claimed a 14,5-point lead over Federico Villagra. While in the third place, Subaru’s driver Claudio Menzi and Gabriel Pozzo are expectants to reduce the gap.

However, Madero’s dominance could come to an end since he must open the road on Saturday; a really difficult task to carry out due to the uncommon roads which are spread around the Mesopotamian province. The Rally of Entre Ríos features many long straights commonly ending in 90° curves which turn out quite demanding when breaking. Should dry conditions prevail during the first leg, Madero’s Mitsubishi Evo X will have to deal with lack of grip, something that could tilt the scales in favor of his title’s rivals.

Nevetheless Madero could learn something about the past. In the 2008’s edition of this round, Federico Villagra arose with the victory after an amazing comeback. After dropping six positions while opening the road in the first leg, “Coyote” shaved more than 23 seconds to finally beat Alejandro Cancio by 8,3s.

In the same way, there are some facts that could back Madero for an absolute victory. In the 2007’s edition, Villagra was benefit from wet conditions while opening the roads and claim an unquestionable victory. So then, everything could happen this weekend, and nothing should be taken for granted.

This year Rally Entre Ríos will consist of 14SS totalizing 147,66km of competition and the kick-off is schedule for this Friday night in Concepción del Uruguay.
