02.12.2009 Argentine Rally Championship is set to embark on it last and decisive round where the championship will be decided. Nicolás Madero and Federico Villagra, both at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Evo X, will meet face to face to decide who of them will get crowned in the Rally de Unquillo.

The Tango RT driver and series’ leader, Madero, is only 5,5-point ahead of his sole remaining challenger and this weekend he could be sealing his first championship against one of the top-three scorer of all time.

Villagra is pursuing his eighth title in the Rally Argentino, however, this time the “coyote” didn’t get the upper hand and will have fight back if we want to finish this season at the top.

The VRS owner needs to get the overall victory and claims the lead in both legs so as to pick up the total of the points there will be at play: twenty. Nevertheless, if Madero manages to drive his Mitsubishi into second place, or totalize 15 points, he will be the new champion.

The final showdown between the only two contenders, who remained on foot after nine thrilling rounds, will be held in the well known province of Córdoba, where the drivers must tackle four stages commonly used in the WRC round situated between the Punilla Valley and the mountain chain Sierras Chicas

These stages are Agua de Oro-La Cumbre, La Cumbre-Ascochinga, Unquillo-Cosquin and La Falda-Falda, plus another run acroSS an 8km stage, and two SSS including one to be run on asphalt in Unquillo’s downtown on Fridays night.
