Kris Meeke was fastest on the Rally de Curitiba 2009 shakedown, at Campina Grande do Sul, driving his Peugeot UK 207 S2000. Anton Alen set second fastest with a best time just 0.2s behind in the Abarth Punto.

Freddy Loix was third fastest in his Kronos machine despite a near miss with a timekeeper's car at the finish during one of his shakedown runs. Nicolas Vioulloz (Kronos) was next up in fourth ahead of  Giandomenico Basso's Abarth. Argentine Marcos Ligato (Mitsubishi Evo9) posted the sixth best time in 6th.
