Exclusive Tech House & Speed Conversations this week with Two Generations of Rally Champions: 2011 American Super Production Champion Travis Hanson and WRC Legend Ari Vatanen

Tech House & Speed this week is international again. We talk exclusively with a Michigan driver teaching champions how to drive in New Hampshire. And we go to Finland to talk with a World Champion who made some of his rally bones in Africa.

First, 2011 American Super Production rally champion Travis Hanson is an instructor at the Team O’Neil School, one of the largest rally training schools in the U.S. Hanson used some of his own lessons last weekend at the season opening Sno*Drift Rally in Michigan. He drove to a dominating 15 minute win in Super Production on snow and, often, glare, polished ice. Hanson opened defense of his 2011 title rising to the overall podium at the end of the event. And second Tech House & Speed had a great conversation with 1981 WRC champion Ari Vatanen, a four-time winner of the Dakar Rally. The former member of the European Parliament talked about the super marathon aspects of Dakar and the different mindset necessary to be successful there compared to the relative sprint format at a three day WRC event.
