Rally Video Collection 1977 – 1982: Group 4 through to the dawn of Group B

A golden period for rallying was definitly the Group 4 era which consisted mainly of rear wheel drive, 2 litre machines, of which 400 identical cars needed to be produced for homologation.
Drivers like Andruet Munari, Rohrl, Alen, Waldegard, Mikkola, Bacchelli, Mouton, Tabaton, Cerrato, Darniche, Vatanen etc etc. Classic events were a constant during this time with Monte Carlo, Acropolis, RAC, Safari, Portugal, Sanremo all part of the calendar year in and year out.
From the iconic Lancia Stratos, the Audi quattro, Fiat 131, Mk2 Escort et al, it was a magnificent time for fans to see a wide variety of machines and witness them evolve into the frightening Group B monsters by the mid-eighties.
