Giandomenico Basso has won the 2009 Rally 1000 Miglia for the second time. He was driving a D'Ambra Team run Abarth Punto and finished 33s ahead of the 207 S2000 of Renato Travaglia.

Basso was fastest on five of the thirteen special stages and leads the European Rally Championship after this, the first round. Travaglia is now leading Italian Rally Championship after two rounds.

Tobia Cavallini scored an impressive third overall in a 207 S2000 after all of the top three led the rally at some stage.
