Rali Centro de Portugal 2008 Results: Bruno Magalhaes wins to secure another Portuguese championship
Bruno Magalhaes won the Rali Centro de Portugal to claim the 2008 Portuguese rally championship in his 207 S2000 to win the title for the second year in a row. Vitor Pascoal finished second on the rally in another 207 with Pedro Meireles third in a Group N Subaru.
Magalhaes closest championship rival Pedro Fontes didn't have a good rally in his Fiat Punto S2000 as he blew the engine on SS7, handing the championship to Magalhaes. Another quick local man, Lopes, retired his Subaru by crashing out on SS8.
Magalhaes now hopes to have an expanded programme for 2009 to include more IRC events as only contested a few "home" rounds this year in the Peugeot Total S2000 machine.

Bruno Magalhaes actually is the best driver with the best team in Portugal. It was just a matter of time until he and his team (Peugeot Sport) won the champioship. Unfortunatelly, there isn’t another rivals with the same hability and team management. We need drivers like Armindo Araújo or Miguel Campos at their best, to gather more competition.
Note: Lopes (aka Adruzilo Lopes) went of road in a Subaru Impreza Spec C N11. Fernando Peres abandoned with broken gearbox in the Lancer EVO IX.
