Visitors to the PistonHeads Show enjoying the cars on display
The PistonHeads Performance Car Show closed today, having attracted an astounding 85,000 car enthusiasts through its doors to see an exquisite selection of mouth-watering cars. From the Tiger Aviator to the Aspira F620, the V-Storm to the Lamborghini LP560-4 SV, fans of all types of performance cars were blown away with the variety of machinery on display.
Making its first appearance at the show this year was the Trofeo Abarth 500 GB Championship, which announced Zing Digital Media as its title sponsor for the 2010 season. Not only were cars from the championship on show, but also Abarth’s road-going vehicles. “I think everyone in motorsport knows about the series but not everyone is aware of the Abarth road cars,” said Series Organiser Paolo Callea. “The show has been fantastic for raising brand awareness of Abarth products, and we have been particularly busy with enquiries about the Punto and the 500 road cars.”
Meanwhile, regular attendee performance upgrade specialist Torque Developments International, has been exhibiting since the first year of the show. “It’s a great place for business-to-business meetings and also provides the opportunity to speak with real car fans,” said Mark Catchpole, Managing Director of TDI. “Sometimes it can be hard to really get in touch with your target audience, but PistonHeads is a show that you know will attract the right people.”
New for 2010, the Stuff Zone with What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision area was also a great success with the latest innovations and gadget trends on display, including the multi-gadget docking station, the Spiderpodium by Breffo, and MSI’s top of the range notebooks.
“It’s been a great show, with an amazing collection of readers’ cars and a hall full of interesting and relevant stands,” said Paul Garlick, PistonHeads Brand Manager. “We’ve had a fantastic response from readers and exhibitors alike helping to create an amazing atmosphere. It’s certainly been the best show to date and we are already looking forward to next year.”
Managing Director of Haymarket Exhibitions, Gavin Brown, said: “This year, visitor attendance to the PistonHeads Show is up, thanks to a bigger show with more fantastic cars and new exhibitors. Last year the main feature was Porsche; this year we had the Alfa Romeo Legends display, so next year we plan to have another car marque take centre stage due to its popularity. Plans are already beginning for the 2011 show, which will take place on 13-16 January: we’ll see you there!”
