Phillip Morrow to test Proton Satria Super 2000 for Mellors Elliot Motorsport
According to Autosport magazine, recently released Mitsubishi driver Phillip Morrow is to develop the newly homologated Proton S2000. Morrow is due to test the car in the coming weeks and a possible future programme is a possibility.
Chris Mellors (MEM) commented to Autosport:
I have been doing the testing myself up until now, but we're after somebody with, how should I put it, more recent experience. Phillip found himself with not much else on, so we thought it would be a very good chance to use his skills and see what he makes of the car."
Alister McRae is also scheduled to test the car soon with a view of competing in the APRC next year. The car is expected to make it's competitive debut at the end of the year, though no event has been confirmed, and there is a desire for the team to enter the IRC and BRC next year also.
It isn't yet clear if Morrow's recent signing to TEG Sport will effect the Proton testing opportunity.
