Mads Ostberg suffers a crash during testing in the Baumholder region for Rallye Deutschland 2008

Posted by Scott Coursey 7 July, 2008

Norwegian hotshot Mads Ostberg suffered a big crash during testing in the Baumholder area according to rallye-magazin.de. Ostberg hit one of the infamous hinkelsteins which line the roads of the tank testing area. The impact was so severe on the Subaru S12B that planned testing today has been cancelled. This will be Ostberg's first time competing on Rally Germany and the test was designed for Ostberg to acclimatise with the unique tarmac surface. Hinkelsteins have claimed a few victims in the past, most notably Ostberg's mentor Petter Solberg. Rally Germany will take place in August.
