According to rallyemagazin.de Opel are planning to homologate a Group A and N Corsa OPC in Russelheim. Opel have been absent from top line motorsport since withdrawing from the DTM and are wanting to return to rallying.

Volker Strycek Opel Sports boss stated, "We have had requests from importers and customers and we are committed to are customers, especially when it comes to a popular sport."

British company MSD who also run the MG S2000 project have been tasked with developing the Super 2000 version of the car. MSD CEO Dave Whitehead commented, "We are pleased that Opel has promised global homologation and MSD should have a car ready to start testing in the Autumn."

A Russelheim car should be ready for presentation on next months Rallye Germany and may go over one of the stages. It would be imagined that the company want to return to the WRC and the S2000 car could become a WRCar with an added performance kit in line with the new technical regulations.
