Evgeny Novikov was present at the Citroen PH Sport test at Sweet Lamb and drove the C4 WRC

Russian PWRC driver Evgeny Novikov sampled a Citroen C4 WRC at the Sweet Lamb test facility in mid-Wales on Friday during the PH Sport test, according to sources present.

Other drivers involved in the test were Martin Prokop, who was there as part of his Citroen Junior Experience prize, and Sebastien Ogier who was testing the C4 prior to his drive in one on Wales Rally GB.

Martin Prokop commented prior to the test:

It’s certainly a dream come true for me. Driving the Xsara was a fantastic experience and, although that was a year ago now, it will be interesting to try to compare the two machines. WRC cars are just so much faster; you can brake much later and there’s always plenty of power available.

I will need a little time to adapt, but probably less than I did in 2007. I’m looking forward to working on the settings with the team and seeing what sort of influence the different set-ups have on the car’s handling.

I will also try to make the most of the day and improve as I go along. As was the case last year, my main concern is that I won’t want to hand the car back afterwards!”

Novikov will be driving a Mitsubishi Evo IX on Wales Rally GB in the PWRC after a great run saw him finish second on Rally Japan, where he would have won but for suspension trouble on the last stage.

3 teams want Novikov to test their cars (for free!!!). He has 60 km tests of Citroen C4 WRC in thursday, on friday he went to M-Sport and has tests of Ford Focus RS WRC 2008. And also Adapta ask him to test Impreza WRC.
Now Evgeny and his team choose a programme for the next year:
full P-WRC or 6-8 rallys in M2 together with Czech championship.
