Nederland Rally 2008 Results: Erik Wevers wins to secure Dutch title

Erik Wevers secured the Dutch Rally Championship with victory on the Nederland Rally in his Ford Focus WRC.

Wevers had to work for his victory as Rene Kuipers initially took the lead of the rally in a Subaru S12. Wevers reeled him in though to win the rally by 51s and secure the championship. Jaap van Lagen took third o/a and Group N honours ahead of the category favourite van den Heuvel in fourth. One of the top runners Dirk Boers crashed his Subaru into a tree and out of contention.

Erik Wevers will now concentrate on the next Euro Rally Challenge round in Germany in the imminent future as he has little time to savour his Dutch championship success.
