MSD want to debut the Corsa OPC S2000 competitively on Rally Ireland
Motor Sport Developments are keen for the Opel Corsa OPC Super 2000 to make its competitive debut on Rally Ireland in January, according to Motorsport News.
Milton Keynes based firm MSD were considering a run on Rallye Monte Carlo for the car's debut but team boss David Whitehead said that an outing at Rally Ireland was his preference.
Whitehead stated to MN:
Monte Carlo is too specialised and would be an awful strain on our resources but Ireland looks a promising event, although we do not have a deal in place with any driver yet."
One would imagine that Gareth MacHale would drive the car in Ireland as the family hold a large stake in MSD.
Meanwhile, Haris Kaltsounis (car pictured above), who has just bought an OPC Corsa Super 2000, was unable to perform course car duties on the Black Rose Rally at the weekend due to an ECU failure in testing. He plans to contest the 2009 Greek championship in the car.
