Kris Meeke's Peugeot 207 S2000 is being investigated by event scrutineers for a possible technical infringement, according to autosport.com.
The results have been made provisional by event stewards, with an asterisk placed alongside Meeke's first place. Autosport.com are reporting that they believe the area of the car under investigation is the front crossmember, which is rumoured to be underweight.
A source from Rally Scotland told Autosport: "The result for car #1 remains provisional and subject to the scrutineers checking an area of the car. It's unlikely that we will have a confirmed result for car #1 until Monday."
A Peugeot spokesman said: "We are trying to find out what has happened, there appears to be an issue with Kris's car. If there is a problem, we will consider an appeal."
These latest develepments have cast a huge shadow over what was an otherwise excellent event and they can only confuse the general public, who would have assumed that the results were now final.
