Peugeot UK has confirmed that it has re-signed Kris Meeke to drive its Peugeot 207 S2000 in next year's Intercontinental Rally Challenge, accompanied by co-driver Paul Nagle.
It was on 15th December 2008 that Peugeot UK first announced its intention to enter a Peugeot 207 S2000 into the 2009 IRC. Now almost twelve months later, Peugeot has secured its third consecutive IRC Manufacturers' title and Peugeot UK driver Kris Meeke is the 2009 IRC Drivers' champion.
This year, Peugeot UK's Peugeot 207 S2000 driven by Kris and co-driver Paul Nagle has covered 2197.73 special stage kms and set fastest times on 42 of the 127 stages it completed. On the way to the title, Kris and Paul have won five rallies out of the nine contested. The continued dominance of the Peugeot 207 S2000 in the IRC is a fitting tribute to the work of its designers, Peugeot Sport and the strengths of the Peugeot 207 road car upon which it is based.
Now all attention switches to next year and regaining the titles. Kris and Paul will be together again in their Peugeot UK entered Peugeot 207 S2000 prepared and supported by Kronos and will contest ten of the proposed twelve 2010 IRC rounds.
