Marty McCormack in-car SS4 McRae Stages 08 driving the Outdoor Services Escort Mk2

Marty McCormack was mainly concentrating on the Irish Citroen C2-R2 cup in 2008 (which he won), but he still had time to wheel out his historic Escort Mk2 for the odd event.

He did the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally in the Escort, navigated by Liam Moynihan, and despite damaging the steering on SS1 after hitting a bank, he ended up finishing 9th o/a and second in the historics. The video below demonstrates his natural abilities behind the wheel.

McCormack is contemplating an assault on the French asphalt championship next year in the C2-R2 (which will be upgraded to a Max version with the kit he was awarded for winning the Irish C2R2 cup) before, perhaps, graduating to the JWRC.
