Malcolm Wilson was talking to crash radio and stated is optimistic about the WRC's future. He feels S2000 with an added kit of performance parts is the way to go and that the rcent WRCC meetings were very positive. He added that he thinks the technical detail concerning the added kit will be sorted and will suit the manufacturers and encourage more to join.
What Wilson's greatest concern was were the FIA going to confirm that the sport would have a global promoter employed. He is satisfied that they made the right decision to pursue this and is confident they will get the right promoter which according to speculation looks like it will be ISC. Wilson is aware this process will take until the next WRCC meeting in October but is happy for them to take time to get it right. He feels this is the key area for the WRC as states that every other major sport has a global promoter.
Wilson also mentioned that he dosen't feel the IRC series will threaten the WRC as he feels manufacturers want to be involved in a World Championship. He went onto add that the new WRC events have raised the bar and thinks Rally Ireland will put on a tremendous show to launch the WRC in 2009.
Wilson happy with the progress made by the WRCC and the recent WMSC decisions
