LOUGH NEAGH STAGES 2009

Organised by Lough Neagh Car &Tarmac Rally Marshals Club

SPONSORED BY Thornton Roofing

With only 4 weeks to this year’s event, sponsored by Thornton Roofing to be held on Sunday 5th July 2009, a full entry list of 90 competing cars is expected in this ever popular 8 stage multi use rally-part of the ‘Pacenotes’ ANICC 2WD Rally Challenge - so expect to see a lot of Mark 2 Escorts.

The event kicks off with scrutineering in the service paddock at Higgins estate, Moneyglass Demesne on Saturday 5th July from 6pm to 9pm. Competing vehicles will be examined, while crews will have the opportunity to reece the stages for the next day.

On Sunday morning all competitors will gather for drivers briefing at 9am in the service paddock to check tyre pressures and more importantly blood pressures for the day ahead. To counteract the blood pressure aspect, a hearty breakfast is available, from 8am onwards, by outside caterers. The first rally car will be off the line at 10am.

A road safety demonstration is planned for the midday service halt with the fire and police services taking part in a realistic road traffic incident.

The Moneyglass Demesne is just one mile from the Roguery Roundabout on the main B18 Toomebridge / Ballymena Road. Spectator car parking is conveniently in the estate, and will be sign posted off the main roads.

Sunday evening will see the competitors at the O’Neill Arms Hotel, Toome, for the rally finish and awards presentation. Everyone is welcome back with carvery meals available up to 7.30pm (a live band will be playing from 9pm).

The club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Higgins family for the use of their grounds, Thornton Roofing our main event sponsor, the O’Neill Arms Hotel our finish venue and all associated sponsors, ADM pipe services, Auto fashion, CMM Electrics, DEN Motorsport, KG Motorsport, MTEC Graphics, Murray Motors Windscreen Replacements and Pound Lighting Centre.
