Lotus could be developing and building the Proton Satria's engine according to various sources. It was first thought MEM would use a Renault unit as other Proton models use one but recently Lotus have been linked with the S2000 project. Meanwhile Karamjit Singh, the 3 times APC champion and one time PWRC champion, has been linked as the main test and development driver. Singh could contest some events in the car when homologated in the summer.
