Christian Loriaux attended the test in Germany of Francois Duval

Posted by Scott Coursey 11 August, 2008

Ford WRT technical director, Christian Loriaux, took the unprecedented step of attending a customer team test session, that of Francois Duval. Loriaux rarely, if ever, attends customer tests but he and Ford feel Dudu is their best chance to beat Citroen on the upcoming asphalt rounds.

From an article in www.wrcisfree.com Loriaux tells a Belgian newspaper his hopes about Dudu :

François is our best chance to beat Sebastien Loeb and to show that our car can beat the Citroen. On asphalt, Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo are faster than our Finnish pilots. Last year, Marcus Grönholm had tried but failed to beat Francois, it is the proof, if it is, of the level of Ford Focus on this surface. However, I am fairly hopeful because François did not feel very at ease during these tests. He has a style of driving really different from that of Mikko and Jari-Matti. I am not too worried however because it is always like that with François: he does not find the car to his taste but he makes super-times nevertheless.”
