Sebastien Loeb reflects on his recent test in the Mosel Valley prior to the ADAC Rallye Deutschland 2008
Sebastien Loeb was interviewed recently by rallye-magazin.com where he reflected on his recent test in Valdenz for the forthcoming Rally Germany. Some extracts from the interview are below.
"In Germany I always feel very well," Loeb stated about his four day test session at the end of June. Loeb and his teammate Dani Sordo were testing in the Moselle vineyards (Veldenz) and on the Baumholder military area (Erzweiler). Their primary focus was to test the harder Pirelli tyre compounds.
On one particular section of road where they tested 7,300 litres of hot water was put down by the local fire brigade to simulate conditions. "That was extremely important for us," said Sébastien Loeb as it is known that there is temperamental summer weather in Germany: "The German test is the prelude to the three crucial asphalt rallies in the championship, and I want to try all weather conditions optimally with the new single tyre choice regulations this year.
Loeb went onto say that, "There is a clean drving style required particularly with the Hinklestiens in the Baumholder area of the rally." He will undoubtedly be the strong favorite to win the rally for the seventh time this year.
