Stilo-equipped driver Sebastien Loeb has claimed his sixth consecutive drivers' title and his 54th career victory on the Rally Great Britain, the 12th and final round of the 2009 FIA World Rally Championship.
This is the Frenchman's fifth straight world title achieved using Stilo equipment, which is also worn by his Monegasque co-driver Daniel Elena. After more than 4040 kilometres of flat-out competition in an epic battle that went down to the season's final stage, Loeb's year-end total is seven rally wins and two further podiums.
The 2009 World Championship season took in extremes ranging from the subzero temperatures of Norway to the wind and rain of Wales. Throughout all these diverse conditions, and over all four corners of the globe, Loeb's Stilo equipment functioned perfectly on every event.
"I've chosen Stilo because the company fulfils all my needs," said the 35-year-old Citroen driver, who is now a six-time World Rally Champion. "My Stilo helmet is both strong and light, and the integrated communications package ensures clear communication with my co-driver Daniel at all times, which is vital for success. This year has been my most rewarding title yet as I really had to work hard for it - and Stilo has been with me since the very beginning of the season."
Stilo also equips Loeb's young team mate Dani Sordo, whose third place finish in the World Rally Championship has helped Citroen to another manufacturers' title - claimed at the last round in Spain.
Loeb wears the Stilo ST4 helmet, which has proved to be the choice of champions. Amongst its unique features are a patented ergonomic design, light weight that does not compromise strength, a drinking system and a fully integrated communications package. As a long-term Stilo user and a brand ambassador for the Italian firm, Loeb has been able to fully appreciate the qualities of his Stilo equipment for the last four years, on both rally stages and racing circuits.
Loeb's latest success crowns an extremely successful season for Stilo on the world's stages. Peugeot UK driver Kris Meeke clinched the Intercontinental Rally Challenge title in September with Stilo, while the newly-crowned Production Car World Rally Champion, Armindo Araujo, also relies on Stilo helmets.
Stilo's Elena Perini commented: "On behalf of everybody at Stilo, I would like to sincerely congratulate Sebastien Loeb, Daniel Elena and everybody else at Citroen for another well-deserved triumph, further reinforcing their place in rallying history. We have been proud to share their joy for several years now, and we would like to be amongst the first to wish them even more success for the 2010 season!"
