ADMV Lausitz Rallye 2008 Final Results: Dennis Kuipers wins his first rally as Hermann Gassner takes DRM title

Dennis Kuipers, driving an 06 Focus WRC, won the Lausitz Rally in Germany to record his first win in the new for this season Euro Rally Challenge, and also it was the first victory of his career.

Challenge leader Erik Wevers retired from the event after crashing out on SS8, whilst in second place after initially leading. German driver Reuben Zeltner was leading at this point in an Octavia WRC but crashed spectacularly on SS8 also and lost 3mins and then retired at the end of the leg.

Peter Corazza finished in second place overall in his Mitsubishi just over ten seconds behind the winner. Sandro Wallenwein was third in a Subaru WRX while Rene Kuipers, father of Dennis, brought his 06 Focus home in fourth. Hermann Gassner Jr was fifth while his father, Hermann Snr, was sixth and secured his fourth German rally championship.

A major casualty was Ellen Lohr retired her Subaru on SS7 after going off into a river, she was taken to hospital just to be checked over.
