Jari Matti-Latvala says he can win Rally Norway after testing Pirelli’s new snow tyre recently in Sweden
Jari Matti-Latvala believes he can win Rally Norway in February after testing Pirelli's new snow tyre at a two day test in Kall, Sweden recently, as reported by Motorsport News.
The works M-Sport Ford driver completed 250 miles where he sampled the new snow tyre. The tyre is the same width as a gravel one, which utilises a 15-inch wheel rim.
Latvala commented to Motorsport News:
The tyre worked surprisingly well. Normally the snow tyre is very narrow so it can cut through the snow and find the grip on the ice below. Even though this tyre is wider it provides better grip under braking although I am not sure if it will be the same when the snow is really deep.
I honestly had a good feeling from this test and I am confident I can go to Norway in a stronger position than I was this time last year. I really think I can win there."
