Yet more fantastic video footage from amjayes, and this time it's the sights and sounds of the Ferrari Dino V6 engined Lancia Stratos HF; rallying's first homologation special.

The famous Bertone designed, wedge-shaped, Stratos is probably, for most people, the car that truly defined rallying in the 1970's along with the Ford Escort RS.

Not only did the Group 4 Italian machine possess aesthetic qualities that would make people instantly fall in love with it, but the Stratos also produced one of the greatest and most evocative engine sounds in the history of the sport.

To quote team boss Cesare Fiorio: "With the Stratos we had made a tremendous car, frightening other manufacturers so that some dropped out."
