Kris Meeke hopes to be in Germany driving a Munaretto prepared Renault Clio S1600

Posted by Scott Coursey 19 July, 2008

Kris Meeke hopes to secure the necessary budget to contest Rallye Deutschland 2008 in a Munaretto (Renault Sport satellite team) run Clio S1600. Meeke told Sammy Hamill in the Ireland Saturday Night,

"It is very early days. We talked about doing the rally (during rally Russia) in one of the Munaretto Clio's, an ex-Patrik Sandell S1600, and with entries closing last weekend we had to make a quick decision."

Meeke added, "The entry is in but that dosen't mean to say I'll be doing the rally. I still have to find the funding and I'm still quite a bit short of the target. I have about a week to pull the whole thing together. Certainly I would love to be going to Rally Deutschland. It was one of my best JWRC wins and it is a rally I enjoy. But, like I said the entry is very provisional."

Meeke is hoping for more outings with Renault in the R3 Clio as they are considering  the possibility of a couple of tarmac IRC rallies, the Rallye Principe de Asturias or San Remo. Also, the R3 might be seen on the Toddsleap.com Ulster Rally, though this is only being hinted at.
