Raikkonen finished in seventh place with the Citroen C4 WRC on Rally Germany, and he also recorded his first WRC stage victory with fastest time on the Circus Maximus Super Special on Sunday.

"It goes to show that experience is important," said Kimi Raikkonen. "But that's the objective for us this year: we want to build up the basic knowledge of how to be a rally driver. Some people might think it's easy to go from Formula One to an asphalt rally, but it's completely different: apart from maybe the superspecial stage, which is more like a racing track!

"The surfaces are changing all the time and that's one of the most difficult things to get used to, along with the pace notes and all the different corners. But generally it's been another very positive experience, and it was nice to win a stage as well," he added.

Meanwhile, Citroen boss Olivier Quesnel has spoken of his desire to retain Raikkonen in the Junior Team next year. He told autosport.com: "We like Kimi and we want him with us next year. We will be very pleased if he wants to stay with us."

Kimi Raikkonen will next be in action at Rally Japan, which takes place from 9-12 September 2010.
