IXO Models 1/43 Series

Announced at the recent Nuremburg Toy Fair, IXO have introduced a model series called PREMIUM X. These are 1/43 scale cars, but instead of being diecast, they are fully built up but with a resin bodyshell, in limited numbers of between 500 – 1000 models only.

This will enable IXO to produce the rarer cars, without the expense of tooling in diecast. These will retail at £49.99 each. The series includes obscure American cars, but the following are motorsport related in the series……….. Lancia ECV 1

Included in the IXO Models PREMIUM X Series is the Lancia ECV1, this was to be the predecessor to the Group B Lancia Delta S4 rally car, this was to be in the FIA’s proposed Group S. It featured, twin turbo’s, and a fully composite body…..But the accidents of the Group B cars in 1986 cancelled the introduction of Group S, and of course the Group B Super Cars too………..

It appears that these will come in the correct cigarette livery (Belga being Belgian cigarettes), the PEPSI car is also sponsored by the Gauloises cigarette brand.
