Events from Scotland and Brazil could be included in next year's IRC, RallyBuzz understands.  Although a route has yet to be confirmed for the Scottish rally, the proposals are for a three day rally which would include the Highland and Stirling areas, as well as Perth and Kinross, in an effort to recreate the old Scottish Rally of the 1970's and 80's.

IRC bosses are keen to have a round in Britain and favour an event in Scotland. The Scottish Enterprise and Infrastructure Committee were believed to be funding the event with £35 000, though an announcement has yet to be made if the event secured the funding after an application was made back in January of this year.

The Safari Rally is scheduled to be included next year and this will be the first time that Monte Carlo will be on the same calendar as the Safari since the 2002 WRC. The Brazil event is expected to be the second round in the championship after Monte Carlo, while Rally Japan appears to be on the calendar later in the season as it isn't a WRC round in 09.

A 3 day Scottish Rally from 1987, it's route was much shorter than previous years due to limitations imposed, by the then, world motorsport governing body FISA:
