After the first 6 stages (end of first leg) of the 2008 Schutte Informatisering Hellendoorn Rally (also known as the Golden Tulip Rally) in the Netherlands Mark van Eldik, driving a Subaru S12b, holds a 4 second lead over Erik Wevers in his 06 Focus WRC.

Dirk Boers is third in his Subaru WRC ahead of the Focus 06 of Dennis Kuipers. Jasper van den Heuvel leads Group N in fifth while Patrick Snijers is ahead in the GT class in seventh. Of the British crews entered, Graham Coffey is 18th and Paul Kirtley lies 29th both are driving Subaru WRCs. There are 14 stages to run  tomorrow for the final leg. 

The rally is the latest round of the Euro Rally Challenge which was devised by Erik Wevers and his fellow competitors to try and create an affordable European type championship for GT and WRCars. The events in the Challenge consist mostly of Dutch, Belgian and German rallies.

van Eldik crashed out of the rally on stage 8, Boers had to give up with cooling problems. Wevers leads by 2.30 min (stage 13) van den Heuvel still leads Grp N
