Guy Wilks has launched his Back the Brit campaign to try and raise two million pounds to secure a drive in the Subaru Manufacturer Team next year. Subaru's team director Richard Taylor stated they would be interested to run Wilks if he secured the budget and would give him equal machinery to Solberg and Atko, according to autosport.com.
Taylor added: "We've been talking to Guy for a long time about this. Our position is clear. A drive in the Subaru World Rally Team is not simply for sale, but if we were talking to the right sort of driver - a driver who can perform for the team at the highest level - then we would always be interested."
Wilks, who is launching his Guy Wilks 500 club investment plan at the Goodwood FOS this weekend, said that he will make everything possible for this to happen. He added that he has never been so determined in his life to secure the drive.
