Eugene Donnelly is likely to contest the Ulster Rally and Cork 20 in the Fabia
Commenting in Ireland's Saturday Night, Maghera's Eugene Donnelly said he will more than likely contest the final two rounds of the ITRC in the Skoda Fabia WRC. Having just recently won a shortened Donegal International Rally, Donnelly was ecstatic with the car's performance especially the new Silverstone tyres. It appears most of the problems have been sorted with the car, including the transmission and suspension, while the team are currently working on the engine mapping for a five speed box, as was originally mapped for six.
Donnelly now has the Skoda back from Craig Bennett and with his old team back together it is just like the Corolla days, a car which Eugene compared the Skoda with. So a bit of spice returns to the currently beleaguered championship, for hopefully the last two rounds anyway.
Donnelly has also revealed, to the Sunday Life newspaper, that he plans to contest the Lurgan Park Rally before possibly fitting in a one day national rally prior to the Ulster.
