Eamonn Boland plans to contest a few WRC events in the next few months and 2009

Eamonn Boland is planning to enter Catalunya and Rally GB this year, followed by Rally Ireland and Rally Norway in 2009, according to Motorsport News. Boland who is virtually the Irish Tarmac Champion of 2008 will more than likely use his Subaru S12b on the WRC events and will be run, as ever, by Dom Buckley Motorsport.

Norway will be a new challenge to Boland as he has never competed there before but he has contested many WRC rallies in the last 7 or 8 years including a few assaults of the Monte Carlo Rally. Eamonn has previous experience of Spain, Wales and of course Rally Ireland.

Eamonn plans a few extra WRC rounds as a treat:

Ulster Rally Latest: After 3 stages Boland has an 18.5s lead ahead of Guy Wilks with Mark Higgins 3rd. McGarrity is 4th and next up is McKinstry  while event favourite Kevin Lynch is 6th some 43s behind the leader and obviously having problems.

Phil Morrow is 12th taking it easy in his new mount and newcomer Sebastien Ogier is 15th in the C2R2 Max. Peader Hurson retired on SS1 after going off the road on a series of bumps near the start of the stage.
