Francois Duval is to drive a factory Abarth Grande Punto S2000 on the IRC Sanremo Rally at the end of September.
Duval commented on his website:
"Abarth were looking for a driver for Sanremo, Alain Penasse offered his services and within 24 hours everything was sorted. I am pleased to participate in this round though it will not be the easiest because it also accounts for the Italian championship and many local drivers will be present. Nevertheless, I will do my best and I'am not going to repeat the mistake I made in Ypres.
"On Saturday morning I can test with a Fiat engine upgrade that seems to work well. I also will drive a bit at night, to acclimatise myself for the conditions of Friday's night's opening special stage which could prove significant.
"My goal is obviously to make the last two rallies this season and find a good seat in the 2010 IRC to be ready in 2011 for the new technical regulations that will be implemented in the WRC. After all I'm only 28 years ...."

Duval has had many chances and wasted the chances and the cars he was driving and let the teams down. this is a waste of money and petrol giving him this nice car. If Kris Meeke or Shaun Gallagher had even one of the chances that Duval got over many yearsk then they would now be wrc stars not relegated like Duval. I would not buy a Fiat, I would buy a Peugeot because of Meeke. I bought a Peugeot t shirt last month because of meeke and his fine driving performances in IRC.
