51ème Criterium des Cevennes 2008 Results: Ludovic Gal claims his first FFSA Championnat de France event victory

Ludovic Gal won his first Championnat de France event on the Criterium des Cevennes, at the weekend, driving his Yacco Team Peugeot 307 WRC.

Gal took the lead from the start on what turned out to be a dry rally, he was pressurised early on by 2001 winner Jean-Francois Mourges in a 206 WRC who would eventually finish second. Olivier Marty took a splendid third in his Renault Megane Kit car and beat the WRCars of Brunson and Snobeck who were off the pace as they concentrated on their championship battle.

Retirements included young hotshoe Guillaume Canivenq in a 207 S2000, he had been up to second place but crashed out on the first stage of day two. Cedric Robert retired his Renault Clio R3 on SS10 with a blown engine.

The final round of the championship takes place on the Rally du Var at the end of this month, where Belgian Rally Championship returnee Pieter Tsjoen is expected to take part in the Structo Focus 07 WRC.
