One of the highlights for motorsport fans at Goodwood over the weekend was the twelve car static display tribute to Colin McRae.

There were some very interesting vehicles from his career which included his second rally car, the Talbot Sunbeam Ti that he debuted on the Galloway Hills Rally 1985 (His first ever event was the Kames stages in 1985 driving an Avenger). Also present was a Nissan 240RS which Colin used twice, first on the Autofit Rally in May 1988 where he finished second. Then he used it to win his first rally, the Tweedies Daihatsu Stages on the17th July 1988, where he was co-driven by his wife to be Alison.

Other cars included the 1995 title winning Impreza 555, his 1992 BRC winning Legacy, the Jordan-Peugeot 196 F1 car he tested in 1996. Also, the Ferrari 550 Maranello GTS car that was used at Le Mans to finish 3rd in class, his Vauxhall Nova from his early BRC days, the Safari winning Focus WRC from 1999. Another interesting car on display was the Metro 6R4 McRae used on the 2006 Donegal Rally re-done in the original livery. Also there, was the self built Mk2 Escort which was campaigned in recent years. The Skoda Fabia WRC that McRae used on Rally GB 2005 was present and driven up the hill and on the rally stage by Norwegian legend John Haugland. The Nissan pick-up McRae used on the Dakar was thought to have been there too.
