Citroen will continue in the 2009 WRC despite recent crisis within the sport

Citroen boss Olivier Quesnel has confirmed that Citroen Sport will contest the 2009 WRC despite the recent crisis within the sport of Subaru and Suzuki withdrawing.

Quesnel commented:

Citroen remains entered in the 2009 FIA World Rally Championship as planned with its two crews, Sebastien Loeb/Daniel Elena and Dani Sordo/Marc Marti.

Of course we regret that both Suzuki and Subaru decided to withdraw from the competition, but we cannot comment their decision.

We are looking forward to another exciting season and we will try to renew our great results of 2008. Our goals remain the same, winning the manufacturers and drivers titles."
