Saturday 25th September see's Callum Black and Paul Wakely tackle the Yorkshire stages in an attempt to win their first BRCC title.

After securing a win on the Isle of Man and consistently finishing on the podium in every event, the pair find themselves leading the BRC Challenge.

However, Callum will not be contesting in his usual MG ZR S1400, but instead progresses to a works spec S1600 Suzuki Swift in a quest to secure the title.

Callum comments:

"I'm thoroughly excited about Rally Yorkshire and to behind the wheel of the Swift S1600 will be an exhilarating experience. The MG is a brilliant car, but we're simply loosing so much power to these S1600's, so now I have equal machinery, I really want to push on and fight for this championship. It will also provide me with some competitive seat time in the run up to my 2011 season. This rally wont be easy by any means - it's Chris's local rally and there's a lot of good drivers behind me. At the end of the day it's rallying, so anything can happen. I just want to get my head down and drive my own rally."

Callum is:

1st in BRC Challenge
1st in BRC Challenge Class
1st in BRC Challenge Junior

In the run up to the Trackrod Rally, Callum tested with two times former winner of the 'Starts of the Future' (former BRC Challenge) where James passed on his invaluable experience, helping Callum get to grips with the Swift S1600.

Callum commented:

"James has provided me with a lot more confidence and helped me massively in terms of getting to grips with the car. With James's experience in progressing from a 1400cc like me, he knew exactly what was required to make the step up to S1600, especially his experience in driving the works S1600 Ignis and Swift. I've learnt that you really have to grab these cars by the 'scruff of their neck' and drive them. Now I know what's required and the car is how I like it, I have a huge amount of confidence in the car. I can't wait for the Trackrod!"
