Brice Tirabassi has withdrawn from the remainder of the 2008 IRC series
Frenchman Brice Tirabassi has withdrawn from the rest of this season's IRC as has been dogged by a very unreliable BSA Peugeot 207 S2000.
In an article by rally-live.com Tirabassi, the former 2003 JWRC champion, has only scored IRC points once this season on Rally Russia, where he collected two points. On the recent Madeira Rally he was plagued by chronic understeer and eventually retired with an electrical problem.
Tirabassi explains his IRC withdrawal after Madeira to rally-live:
Unfortunately there was no point in fighting against the tide of this bad luck. Our position in the title race has already been badly compromised, so we have reached the point where there was no point in continuing.
Of course I hope to be back at some point in the future. My commitment and motivation remains exactly the same."
