Ken Block’s Rally America car now stands ready in Detroit. The OMSE-team has done a fine job and later this week Block will test the car for the first time. The Sno-Drift rally starts in Atlanta Michigan on Friday 29/1.

The red, white and blue colored OMSE Fiesta that Marcus Gronholm drove up Pikes Peak last summer has been transformed into a black and green monster that will be driven in Rally America by the American Ken Block. Block has made his name in motorsport through jumping rally cars and the two award winning movies, Gymkhana and Gymkhana II that have been seen by millions of people on Youtube. Block who is a co-founder of DC Shoes began his career in rallying in 2005. Since then he has been driving Rally America on a regular basis with many first-class results.

“It feels good and I’m proud working with Ken Block. This is evidence that we now can compete on an international level as well,” says Andréas Eriksson.

Later this year they shoot Gymkhana III and the car they use will be a purpose built OMSE-Ford Fiesta.

“To build the Gymkhana car feels thrilling. It is something over the top where we have totally free hands engineering wise which is very inspiring”, says Andréas Eriksson.

The upcoming rally, Sno-Drift, has not been Block’s best race over the years and therefore the expectations isn’t that high. The main thing is that Block reach the finish line which isn’t an easy task with the aggressive driving style Block has. The goal throughout the season is a completely different thing.

“The goal is off course that Ken Block wins Rally America but for us it’s also a good opportunity to show the world what Swedish engineering stands for,” added Eriksson.
