Armin Schwarz bids for World Rally Championship global promoter and TV rights deal

In an article in Autosport magazine former WRC stalwart Armin Schwarz is working on a deal to tender for the position of global rights promoter of the World Rally Championship. Schwarz has worked in the media, presenting WRC coverage for German channel RTL, since he stopped competing in the WRC.
Valueaddgroup, a Swiss marketing consultancy, have written to the FIA declaring it's intention to submit a formal bid to become the WRC's global promoter. The consortium will also bid to take over the WRC's commercial and media rights which expire at the end of 2010, according to Motorsport News who also covered the story.
Schwarz is heading up the consortium of business men who are interested in developing the WRC. Eurosport is another company working on a bid for the rights, but the favourite appears to be from existing WRC commercial rights holder ISC.
Schwarz commented to Autosport:
We are serious about this. We are not just walking up to the tree to give it a shake and see what happens - the current position of the WRC is too serious for that."
