Villagra aims the victory and the lead on his 100th start
Argentine Rally Championship moves to the west, to the province of San Luis, where this weekend it will be held the round nine of the series.
The two main contenders for the title, Gabriel Pozzo (Subaru) and Federico Villagra (Mitsubishi) come as favorites to claim the victory since they have also won the last two editions of Rally de San Luis.
However, this year the route has considerably been changed so the battle will be open than ever and many drivers arise as candidates to fight for the win.
For Villagra this will be a special weekend. “Coyote” will start his 100th event in the Rally Argentino and for sure he will want to crown it getting the victory -his 42- which could enable him to claim the first position in the standings.
As for Pozzo this is a great opportunity to confirm his leadership. The last time Baratec’s driver won a rally was five rounds ago, and since them, Villagra has edged closer dramatically to four points.

Last round of the series was also special. Paraguayan driver Diego Domínguez (Mitsubishi) claimed his maiden victory after winning Rally de Goya to became the first foreign to come up with a win since Brazilian Paulo Lemos beat all the locals in a competition held in 1986. This time Domínguez will tackle a different event, not so plain, and much more difficult for his drive.

Rally de Goya also meant the last appearance for Nicolás Madero. The Tango’s driver and runner-up last year decided to step aside for the rest of the season due to his main sponsor stop backing him.
Rally de San Luis kicks off this Friday night with a SSS to be held in downtown whereas on Saturday and Sunday drivers must tackle 15 stages totalizing 145,80 kilometers.
